C.L. Burks Construction-Commercial Roofing Contractors

IT Manager - Systems Administrator

Job Description

IT Manager
  • Systems Administrator CL Burks Commercial Roofing | Cumming, GA (Onsite, with travel to branch offices across the Southeast) About the Role CL Burks Construction, a growing commercial roofing contractor operating 5-6 offices across the Southeastern U.S., is looking for an IT Manager
  • Systems Administrator to own our technology strategy and MSP vendor relationship.
We outsource core infrastructure monitoring, patching, and helpdesk support to a managed services provider — so this role isn't about being buried in tickets. It's about being the internal expert who makes sure our technology investment is actually working for the business: managing our MSP relationship, closing the gaps a fully outsourced model leaves open, and giving our leadership team a trusted voice on IT strategy, cost, and risk. If you're someone who's managed an MSP relationship before, knows how to right-size a technology budget, and wants ownership over cloud administration, backup/disaster recovery, and IT governance for a growing multi-site company — we'd like to talk to you. What You'll Do
  • Own the MSP relationship. Be the primary point of contact and accountability for our managed services provider — reviewing performance, auditing invoices against actual usage, and identifying cost or coverage gaps.
  • Fill the gaps outsourcing leaves behind. Handle onsite support coordination, hardware lifecycle management, and anything our MSP's contract doesn't cover.
  • Administer our cloud and business applications. Own Microsoft 365 administration and the software our teams rely on daily — estimating, project management, and accounting/ERP systems.
  • Build out backup and disaster recovery. Establish and test a real business continuity plan across all our offices.
  • Lead IT governance. Develop the policies, standards, and compliance practices that keep the company secure and audit-ready.
  • Own the IT budget. Partner directly with the CFO on technology spend, procurement, and planning for growth. What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and cloud services
  • Familiarity with backup/disaster recovery planning and business continuity practices
  • Experience in construction, field services, or another multi-site business a strong plus
  • A vendor-management mindset — you're comfortable holding a service provider accountable, not just doing the work yourself
  • Ability to travel periodically to branch offices across the Southeast Why This Role This is a rare opportunity to shape the IT function at a growing $100M company from a position of real ownership — not as a help desk hire, but as the person leadership turns to for technology strategy, vendor accountability, and smart, growth-minded decisions about where IT dollars go.
