Contract-to-Hire Overview:
We are working with a respected, mission-focused organization supporting veterans to identify a Senior IT Systems Lead who will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving the organization's technology environment. This position is ideal for a hands-on IT professional looking to grow their leadership responsibilities. The role combines technical support, infrastructure oversight, project coordination, and vendor management while serving as a key resource for day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a lead technical resource for internal IT operations and end-user support Support and maintain Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, and related systems Assist with infrastructure management, system upgrades, and technology improvement initiatives Help drive cybersecurity best practices, system reliability, and operational efficiency Provide guidance and support to junior IT staff and end users Participate in IT planning, prioritization, and project execution Support multiple locations and travel occasionally to regional sites as needed Document processes, procedures, and technical environments
Qualifications:
3+ years of IT experience with demonstrated leadership, project ownership, or team lead responsibilities Experience supporting Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Azure, and Active Directory Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership and coordination responsibilities Experience working in a multi-site or distributed environment Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work onsite full-time in
Springfield, MA Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in nonprofit, healthcare, human services, or other mission-driven organizations Exposure to networking, cabling, physical security systems, or site technology support Experience working with outsourced IT partners or MSPs Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and IT compliance best practices Why Join?
