Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Information Technology Coordinator at YMCA of Paterson intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined and also manages, evaluates and maintains information system technologies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Manages and oversees all aspects of information systems. Develops and manages system security, including back up processes. 2. Evaluates issues pertaining to information systems for strategic planning and innovation. Anticipates risk, implications, and possible outcomes before acting. 3. Researches and identifies new technology trends that relate to the YMCA's needs and makes recommendations. 4. Develops and monitors budgets related to information technology. Monitors the costs involved in maintaining and improving information systems, including equipment and software. Evaluates and recommends technology purchases based on the YMCA's needs. 5. Oversees vendor contracts. 6. Provides monthly reports to supervisor, Vice President, and CEO as to the status of all IT projects and work responsibilities. 7. Ensures proper operating procedures are in place in regard to technology and provides training as assigned. 8. Ensures training and support is provided to users. 9. Applies for grants related to information technology (i.e. - computer grants, donations to sponsor IT programs for youth, etc...) 10. Manages and troubleshoots Jupiter System 11. Manages and complete daily help desk inquires 12. Participates in meetings, groups, coalition, etc. that leverages and expands the YMCA of Paterson's 13. cause, purpose and brand. 14. Performs other related duties as assigned by VP and CEO, 15. Participates in Y activities, such as committees, special events, Healthy Kids Day and Annual Campaign, holiday events, etc.

  • YMCA Team Leader certification must be acquired in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology or related field, or equivalent.
  • Previous professional and/or management level IT experience; understanding of technology needs and systems of YMCA.
  • Ability to research and implement new technologies and solutions.
  • Skills in problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, and to train and instruct users.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Pay:
From $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 per week
