Project/Program Manager (Non-IT) Job Description The primary role of a Project/Program Manager in this non-IT capacity is to plan, direct, and coordinate activities in various fields such as engineering, research and development, financial systems, product roll-out, and other non-IT based projects. Responsibilities Coordinate projects by making detailed plans to achieve goals and directing the integration of technical activities. Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to clients. Recruit employees, assign tasks, direct, and evaluate their work while overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence. Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures. Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates. Essential Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage one's time effectively. In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Understanding of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods. Proficiency in computer software including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and Visio. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field is required. PMI or PMP certification is preferred. 5-7 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, and program management. Proficient in MS Office 365. Master's degree is acceptable. Candidates with an associate degree and 7+ years of experience will also be considered. Internships are accepted as job experience. Previous roles such as Buyer may provide a comparable experience for this role. Work Environment This position is based in an office environment located in Peoria. The role involves collaborating with the Peoria Manager. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of East Peoria, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
