Enterprise Applications, Data and Analytics Manager Angola, Indiana Summary This position provides strategic and operational leadership for Trine University's enterprise applications, institutional business processes, and data and integrations. The position establishes priorities, develops the Applications Team, and partners with university leaders to improve service, efficiency, data quality, and institutional outcomes. Along with executive leadership, the manager collaborates on the evaluation, adoption, and deployment of artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies while ensuring that critical application services remain reliable, secure, sustainable, well documented, and aligned with university priorities. The position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for enterprise applications, data and integrations, and technology-enabled process improvement. Lead, coach, and develop a team consisting of one Senior Enterprise Application Analyst and two Enterprise Application Analysts by setting clear expectations, assigning responsibilities, supporting professional growth, and fostering collaboration and continuity. Prioritize projects, support requests, operational work, and improvement initiatives. Partner with university leaders and departments to understand business needs, evaluate workflows, clarify ownership, and identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve data quality, automate work, and enhance service. Collaborate with university leaders and stakeholders in the evaluation, governance, adoption, and deployment of artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies. Oversee the enterprise applications portfolio to ensure systems, integrations, reporting, and related services remain reliable, sustainable, secure, and aligned with institutional needs. Oversee IT database reporting, data integration, and analytics initiatives to improve decision-making, data quality, and operational efficiency. Establish and maintain appropriate application security, role-based access, privacy, data retention, and compliance practices in partnership with Information Security and university data owners. Promote effective data governance by clarifying data ownership, improving data quality, documenting key definitions and integrations, and supporting consistent and trustworthy database reporting. Coordinate release and change management for enterprise applications, including upgrades, configuration changes, testing, communications, training, deployment, and post-implementation support. Working with the IT Operations team, maintain business continuity and recovery readiness for critical applications, including documentation, backup procedures, vendor coordination, and periodic review of recovery plans. Manage the enterprise applications budget, software licensing, contracts, renewals, consulting services, and related expenditures. Manage relationships with software providers, consultants, and other partners, including service quality, contracts, performance, escalation, and value. Serve as the primary point of escalation for enterprise application issues, competing priorities, and major business process concerns. Advise the Chief Information Officer on application strategy, process improvement opportunities, priorities, resource needs, budget considerations, and technology risks. Provide excellent customer service and clear, professional communication in all written and verbal interactions. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, is required. IT management or supervisory experience is required. Higher education IT experience is preferred. At least 5 years of IT leadership experience managing employees, services, projects, budgets, vendors, or complex cross-functional initiatives. Working knowledge of enterprise applications, ERP and administrative systems, relational databases, SQL, stored procedures, reporting, analytics, data integrations, automation, artificial intelligence, security, privacy, and technology governance. Experience supporting ERP, student information, finance, human resources, reporting, or other enterprise administrative systems is preferred.
