Local Managed Services Provider, is looking for an experienced Level II/III Network & Systems Engineer to support our business clients throughout the Greater Sacramento area. This is not an entry-level position. We are specifically looking for someone who has real-world, hands-on troubleshooting experience — not simply familiarity with the technologies listed below. The right person should be comfortable receiving a support issue, asking the right questions, troubleshooting it methodically, and taking ownership of the problem through resolution. What You'll Be Doing You will support and maintain IT environments for multiple business clients, including: Windows desktops and laptops Windows Server environments Active Directory and Group Policy Microsoft 365 administration Exchange Online OneDrive and SharePoint DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP networking Firewalls, switches, routers and wireless networks VPN and remote-access troubleshooting Printers, scanners and other business peripherals Hardware installation, diagnosis and replacement Software and application troubleshooting User account, permission and security administration Remote and onsite client support Because we are an MSP, you will work with multiple client environments and different configurations . You must be able to adapt, investigate and troubleshoot rather than expect every environment to be identical. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone with at least 2+ years of meaningful hands-on IT support and systems/network administration experience , preferably in an MSP or multi-client environment. You should be able to independently troubleshoot issues such as: A user suddenly cannot access a network resource A workstation cannot communicate with a server or network device DNS, DHCP or connectivity problems Microsoft 365 authentication, email or account issues Active Directory account, computer and permission problems VPN and remote connectivity issues Printer/scanner connectivity and network configuration Server services that have stopped functioning properly Problems where the answer isn't immediately obvious We don't expect anyone to know everything. We do expect you to know how to troubleshoot. You should be comfortable researching an unfamiliar issue, determining the likely cause, testing your solution and knowing when an issue needs to be escalated. Technical Experience Strong working knowledge of: Microsoft Windows 10/11 Windows Server Active Directory Group Policy Microsoft 365 administration Exchange Online TCP/IP networking DNS and DHCP Firewalls, routers, switches and VPNs Network troubleshooting PC hardware and peripherals Experience with additional business applications, backup systems, virtualization, cybersecurity products, VoIP or cloud platforms is a plus. Just as Important as Technical Skills Our clients depend on us, so technical knowledge alone isn't enough. We're looking for someone who: Communicates professionally with clients Can explain technical issues in understandable terms Takes ownership of problems Documents their work Is dependable and organized Knows when to ask for assistance Can work independently without needing constant direction Works well as part of a small, experienced technical team Is comfortable moving between different client environments throughout the day Location & Transportation This position combines work-from-home remote support with onsite client support . You must live in the Sacramento area or nearby and be available to travel to client locations when onsite assistance is required.
