We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and execution of advanced electrical systems for our hoisting equipment.

Key Responsibilities Design and Development:

Electrical control schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) for control panels and automation systems

System Integration:

Collaborate with mechanical, electrical and project engineering teams to integrate electrical systems with other subsystems. Develop PLC panel layouts, motor control center (MCC) drawings, and I/O documentation

Component Selection:

Specify and select electrical components, including motors, drives, PLCs, and safety devices, suited for hoisting applications.

Testing and Validation:

Develop testing protocols and oversee the commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring functionality and safety in both simulated and on-site environments.

Project Management Support:

Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and scheduling related to electrical design aspects.

Documentation:

Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical drawings, BOMs, and user manuals.

Compliance and Standards:

Ensure designs adhere to relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Troubleshooting:

Provide technical support for diagnosing and resolving electrical issues during installation and operation.

Support Engineering Staff:

Assist engineering staff as required.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in industrial or mining applications.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical). (Required) Experience with PLC programming and automation systems. Knowledge of motor control systems, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and power distribution. Familiarity with electrical safety standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, or regional equivalents). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in mine hoisting systems or heavy industrial equipment. Knowledge of international mining regulations and safety standards. Certification in relevant areas (e.g., Professional Engineer [PE] license).
