Job Description

Systems & Network Specialist The Systems & Network Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day support of the company's network and workstation infrastructure. This role combines traditional front-line helpdesk and network support duties, end-user device deployment, and IT asset management, ensuring reliable operations across the plants. The Systems & Network Specialist serves as a key point of contact for end users, resolving issues efficiently while maintaining strong cybersecurity practices and accurate systems documentation. End user support; processing helpdesk tickets and support calls to ensure timely resolution of end-user issues; anticipate potential network and systems issues and proactively develop and implement effective solutions; provide support and maintain the corporate network switches and wireless network infrastructure across all locations; implement and troubleshoot connectivity between company sites and campus locations, including LAN/WAN links; perform LAN routing and switching support, configuration, and troubleshooting, including VLANs and IP subnetting; assist in diagnosing and resolving network issues, including backbone infrastructure problems, to minimize downtime; manage computer hardware assets, including procurement, deployment, inventory, and replacement; assist with maintaining corporate email systems; assist with administering company printers and relationship with external service providers; assist with corporate phone systems (VoIP/PBX) and company cellular service, including vendor relationships and troubleshooting. Will handle departmental on call duties on a rotating basis. Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred. A minimum of 5 years' work experience in a technology field may be substituted for degree. Associate's degree in computer science or a related field. 3 - 5 years of experience in the technology field, with hands-on end user and network support experience. Current Microsoft or Cisco certification(s) (e.g., MCSA/MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent) a plus. Working knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, including backbone infrastructure troubleshooting. LAN configuration, and troubleshooting (VLANs, IP subnetting) a plus. Good working knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office applications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Exchange. Working knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration. Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred.
