Purchase New York - ONSITE Hybrid About the position: The Network Lead supports the organization and the Technology Infrastructure team in daily technological operations from a network and systems perspective. The role is responsible for the management of a team and the proper administration and maintenance of network devices, systems, servers and connectivity. This person will also be involved and take a lead role in projects, particularly those that involve the build-out or relocation of technology services from site to site. The person will work closely with all Information Technology team members, technology vendors as well as across all divisions of the company. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Job Responsibilities (others may be assigned):
Manage a team of two to five Network Engineers/Administrators, review and manage performance.
Work with team members and cross-functionally as well as with Telecom carriers on technology projects and system refreshes
Participate in and manage system availability/security audits; recommend, resolve and close vulnerabilities
Maintain and administer intrusion prevention and detection systems
Configure and deploy infrastructure systems and solutions
Upgrade/Scale enterprise network by analyzing, assessing, testing and installing required components
Maintain network systems/device inventory and vendor contracts
Recommend and procure network devices and systems
Participate in and lead Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity tests and efforts.
Document systems and connectivity topologies
Maintain a high level of system availability and work towards the elimination of single points of failure on the network.
Monitor, optimize and tune internal/external networks and system performance
Participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
Work closely with sr. management and team members to assist in the day-to-day technology operations - assist in incident/ticket resolution, coordinate vendor meetings, provide consistent communication to/from the team, maintain and create technology documentation. Environment
Multiple Hyperscalers, supporting ERP applications and eCommerce, managed services and hosted platforms.
Local Area and Software Defined Wide Area Networks utilizing switches, ASAs, and ION devices
Multiple locations with data center operations in tiered environments, on-premises, co-location and hosted Infrastructure.
Multiple office/branch locations across the U.S.
Windows servers utilizing Active Directory - physical and virtual - on-premises and hosted.
PCs (primarily Dell, Hp and Lenovo) in a mixed environment that includes Windows and Mac operating systems.
Incident Management and Request help desk ticket system.
Email/Groupware platforms
Microsoft Office/M365 suite
System Center Endpoint/Virus Protect/MDM
Remote control tools
Necessary Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a corporate environment
Expertise in internal/external routing, network security, protocols and devices
Skilled in Cisco Catalyst switches, routers and firewalls (CCNA)
Configuration level knowledge of
LAN/SD-WAN
platforms and routing protocols
Administrator level knowledge of Active Directory, Windows servers and desktops
Ability to effectively manage network scalability, work with technology resources and vendors
Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to articulate technology concepts to non-technical personnel
Experience creating documentation, topologies, and presentation information - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Familiarity with ITIL concepts and procedures, incident management and response, production and staging environments as they relate to technology infrastructure
Infrastructure Project and resource management skills
Ability to interact with all levels of management
Manage and develop direct reports, foster teamwork
Solid organizational and communication skills.
Domestic travel to support projects or break/fix efforts.
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 7 - 10 years equivalent work experience.
Desired Skills:
Willingness to learn multiple systems to support the organization
Professional level certification in Cisco switches, routers and firewalls (CCNP)
Experience supporting groupware/email platforms
Knowledge of Platform/Infrastructure - as a service models
Familiarity with Out-of-Band management/cellular connection systems
Experience working with operational and capital expense budgets
Pay:
$75.00 - $85.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
