Working with network operations, field technicians, technical support, and other engineering personnel, the engineer will help maintain reliable connectivity, investigate network issues, support infrastructure deployments, and ensure that telecommunications equipment and network services operate efficiently. This opportunity is suited to an early- to mid-career professional with a foundation in networking or telecommunications who is interested in developing hands-on experience with broadband infrastructure, wireless systems, and internet service provider (ISP) operations. Previous experience in a telecommunications environment is preferred. Why Join Our Team? Join Watch Communications and build your career in the telecommunications industry while contributing to the infrastructure that connects communities and businesses. You will gain practical experience supporting broadband networks, wireless communications systems, network troubleshooting, and telecommunications infrastructure maintenance. Work alongside network operations, field service, and technical support teams to improve connectivity, resolve technical issues, and maintain reliable service delivery. With opportunities to strengthen your networking skills, develop expertise in broadband technologies, and take on greater technical responsibilities, this position offers a foundation for long-term career growth in telecommunications engineering. Responsibilities Monitor broadband and wireless network performance to help maintain reliable connectivity and service availability. Assist with troubleshooting network connectivity issues involving routers, switches, wireless access equipment, transmission links, and other telecommunications infrastructure. Support the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of network equipment used to deliver broadband internet services. Assist with the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of fixed wireless broadband infrastructure and related network components, where applicable. Support fiber-optic connectivity projects, including infrastructure testing, service activation, and troubleshooting, where applicable. Investigate network outages, connectivity degradation, latency issues, packet loss, and other service interruptions. Work with network operations and field technicians to identify faults, coordinate repairs, and restore service efficiently. Assist with IP addressing, routing, switching, network configuration, and connectivity testing. Review network monitoring alerts, equipment logs, performance metrics, and diagnostic reports to identify potential problems. Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, equipment inventories, service incidents, maintenance activities, and infrastructure changes. Assist with network capacity assessments, performance evaluations, and infrastructure upgrades to support growing customer demand. Perform connectivity tests and verify network performance following installations, repairs, upgrades, and configuration changes. Follow established network security procedures, access controls, change-management processes, and operational standards. Coordinate with technical support and customer service teams to investigate recurring connectivity issues and support timely resolution. Assist with preventative maintenance, equipment replacements, firmware updates, and network reliability improvements. Prepare technical reports documenting network incidents, troubleshooting findings, maintenance activities, and recommendations. Perform additional engineering and technical support duties as needed to maintain reliable telecommunications services. Requirements Associate degree or bachelor's degree in telecommunications, network engineering, information technology, computer networking, electrical engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience may be considered. Approximately 1-3 years of experience in telecommunications, broadband networking, ISP operations, network support, or a related technical role preferred. Foundational understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and common network troubleshooting methods. Familiarity with routers, switches, wireless networking equipment, network monitoring tools, and telecommunications infrastructure. Understanding of broadband internet delivery, fixed wireless networking, fiber-optic connectivity, or access network technologies is an advantage. Ability to troubleshoot connectivity problems systematically and identify potential hardware, configuration, transmission, or performance issues. Familiarity with network diagrams, equipment documentation, incident records, and technical reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail when diagnosing network faults and implementing technical changes. Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with engineering, field service, technical support, and operations teams. Ability to prioritize service-impacting incidents, manage assigned tasks, and follow established technical procedures. Willingness to participate in fieldwork, equipment installations, and on-site troubleshooting when required by the position. Ability to follow network security requirements, safety procedures, and company policies when working with telecommunications equipment. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent networking credentials are advantageous but not mandatory. Additional Benefits Enjoy opportunities for professional development and technical training to strengthen your networking skills, expand your knowledge of broadband and wireless infrastructure, and stay current with telecommunications technologies and industry best practices. We encourage long-term career growth by providing opportunities to develop specialized technical skills, contribute to infrastructure projects, and pursue advancement into network engineering, network operations, and senior telecommunications roles. Where offered, employee benefits may include health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), subject to company policies and eligibility.
