You will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for high-level support escalation, client onboardings, and the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure, cloud, security, and migration projects. Unlike a shared project pool, you will be assigned a defined set of client accounts. You are expected to know those environments, own the technical relationship, and proactively identify infrastructure and cybersecurity improvements that become scoped, billable project work (work not included in the standard support agreement). An incentive bonus is available for project work generated and delivered within your assigned accounts. You thrive with a high sense of urgency, meticulous attention to detail, and consistent execution — while also thinking on your feet to proactively solve problems and prevent issues before they impact clients. As a trusted technical client-facing engineer, you will ensure clients receive expert solutions that support their business success. If you are accountable, proactive, and passionate about delivering exceptional results, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Account Ownership & Project Generation Serve as the named Project Engineer for an assigned book of client accounts. Build working knowledge of each assigned environment (infrastructure, security posture, applications, and known technical debt). Proactively identify infrastructure and cybersecurity improvements within assigned accounts and convert those findings into scoped project recommendations. Partner with leadership and account contacts to present opportunities, define scope, and move approved work into billable projects. Participate in an incentive bonus tied to project work generated within your assigned accounts. Project Delivery & Ownership Own infrastructure, cloud, security, migration, and onboarding projects from planning and requirements gathering through successful completion and handoff. Design and implement network infrastructure, Office 365/Google Workspace environments, data migrations, and both physical and virtual infrastructure (Hyper-V and VMware). Proactively identify risks, manage dependencies, track progress in our PSA, and drive projects to meet timelines and client expectations. Collaborate with clients, management, and the technical team to define scope, timelines, and success criteria. Contribute to and improve project standards, scoping, templates, and repeatable processes to increase team efficiency. Technical Escalation & Support Act as the final point of escalation for complex incidents, resolving critical client issues with urgency and effectiveness. Troubleshoot and support Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, and Intune. Design, implement, optimize, and secure client network infrastructure (routers, firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPNs). Manage virtualization environments (Hyper-V and VMware), backup/DR solutions, EDR/security platforms, and managed applications (anti-virus, email filtering, etc.). Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues. Leadership & Continuous Improvement Mentor Level I and II technicians through knowledge sharing and training. Author and maintain high-quality internal documentation and client-facing materials. Provide technical insight to improve service delivery, automation, security posture, and overall operations. Collaborate with management to evaluate new tools and refine best practices. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of Systems/Network Engineering experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or similar multi-client environment.
Deep technical expertise in:
Microsoft 365 / Entra ID / Intune / Exchange administration Windows Server (2016-2025) and Active Directory Virtualization platforms (Hyper-V and VMware) Networking (routers, firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPNs) Backup, disaster recovery, and EDR/security solutions Strong project management skills with proven success executing technical projects (server migrations, network overhauls, email/data migrations, onboardings, etc.) from start to finish. Ability to assess client environments and recommend practical infrastructure and security improvements. Proficient with PowerShell scripting and system automation. Experience working within PSA/RMM platforms (Autotask or ConnectWise preferred). Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, MCSA, VMware VCP, or Cisco CCNA. Experience with security frameworks (SOC 2, CIS, NIST) and compliance best practices. What We're Looking For (Key Traits)
