Job Summary:

The Prevention Specialist will be providing prevention services and activities for identified primary and secondary populations in a designated service area. Prevention services consist of Curricula-based Support Group (CBSG) Prevention Education, Behavioral Health Promotion, Presentations, Information Dissemination, Positive Alternative Activities, and Problem Identification/Referral. One aspect of this job is to become the community resource for professional information on Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drug issues.

Qualifications :

Must have the minimal training required to apply for this position. Must be Certified Prevention Specialist, Advanced Certified Prevention Specialist, or an Associate Prevention Specialist or with a goal of becoming APS within 20 months of hire. The Prevention Specialist should have strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, be well organized and able to multitask. Follow through on details necessary to support coalition members and complete projects are essential. The position requires excellent public speaking skills, computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, organizational skills and follow-through. Must have reliable transportation. Must pass a pre-employment background check and a drug test.
