Reporting directly to the Senior Systems Administrator, this individual will play an essential role in organizing our IT infrastructure footprint, establishing rigorous asset and network documentation, and delivering responsive front-line Helpdesk support to team members across the organization. This role is ideal for a recent technical graduate who wants to build a strong foundation in enterprise systems administration. We are looking for an energetic learner who is curious, asks clarifying questions, and takes pride in meticulous, creative technical documentation. Job Description Working under the mentorship of the Senior Systems Administrator, the IT Systems Associate will focus on two core operational areas: 1. IT Asset Documentation, Inventory & Configuration Tracking (Primary Focus)
Asset & Inventory Control:
Tag, catalog, and maintain an accurate physical and digital inventory of all company hardware, network devices, peripherals, and software licenses.
Network & Systems Documentation:
Collaborate with the Senior Systems Administrator to design, update, and maintain detailed network diagrams, rack layouts, and workstation/server configuration records.
Update & Lifecycle Management:
Track hardware refresh lifecycles, warranty periods, firmware levels, and software patching schedules to keep records current.
SOP & Knowledge Base Creation:
Creatively build, refine, and organize clear standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, and reference documents for existing systems and new rollouts. 2. Helpdesk & End-User Support (Secondary Focus)
Front-Line Troubleshooting:
Provide timely Helpdesk support by identifying, logging, and resolving technical issues with desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and standard office peripherals.
Workstation Provisioning:
Assist in staging, imaging, deploying, and reclaiming workstations and user equipment.
Root-Cause Analysis:
Diagnose technical issues by asking targeted questions, testing underlying causes, and escalating complex network or server issues to senior IT staff.
Key Attributes Meticulous Organization:
Exceptional attention to detail, especially in asset tracking, technical writing, and maintaining structured records.
Intellectual Curiosity:
Proactive mindset, eager to dive into systems, ask questions for clarity, and translate learnings into reusable documentation.
Strong Communication:
Ability to translate technical instructions clearly for non-technical users and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
Core Technical Knowledge:
Strong foundational understanding of PC hardware, Windows operating environments, and fundamental networking concepts (IP addressing, subnets, switching, Wi-Fi LAN).
Familiarity / Coursework
Exposure (Plus): Exposure to Active Directory, Microsoft 365, basic virtualization, or ticketing/inventory management tools.
Professional Mindset:
Solid problem-solving skills, customer-service orientation, and enthusiasm for building a long-term career in IT systems.
Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
