Job Description

OVERVIEW
Run the systems behind every powder day. Love the mountain and love making technology work? This job lets you do both. Every lift ticket, season pass, rental, and online order at Monarch runs through one sales platform, and you'd be the one who makes it hum. You'll build new products, solve puzzles, and make the day smoother for the crews at the ticket windows and rental shop, and spend your breaks in the mountain air, whether that's a few laps on your free pass or a walk with a view. No skiing or riding required. If you've worked as a POS administrator, application administrator, or ticketing systems admin, this is your next step. We're an independent ski area in Colorado with a small IT team. You'd own the sales platform from day one. Building products in the system is part of the job, and we'll trust you to run with it. You'll decide how to get things done, with the IT team behind you when you need a second set of eyes. The bigger part is the crew who use the system every day: finding what's slowing them down, then working with the vendor and the configuration to fix it. The better it works for them, the better the day goes for everyone on the mountain.
JOB SUMMARY
The IT Department is a great way to join the ski industry and the Monarch family. Our IT team supports the technology behind every department on the mountain, and this role offers the chance to own the system that every lift ticket, season pass, rental, and online order runs through, while still getting to enjoy the perks of your complimentary Monarch Mountain season pass. The Ticketing and Sales Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, and support of Monarch Mountain's enterprise ticketing and point of sale platform. This includes lift ticketing, season passes, reservations, rentals, retail, online sales, and RFID access control. This individual is the primary owner of the platform and Monarch's main contact with the platform vendor. They keep the platform's configuration, data, reports, and documentation accurate and up to date, and train department managers and supervisors. This role is expected to use good judgment and work independently in the day-to-day running of the platform.

Monitor, maintain, restart, and perform first-line troubleshooting of platform application server services and system interfaces. Independently plan, test, and deploy application upgrades and hotfixes, coordinating timing and prerequisites with the IT team. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of product, pricing, and inventory data, including naming standards and removal of duplicate or obsolete records. Build products as directed by Marketing and leadership, and advise on platform capabilities and limitations to keep product builds realistic. Online Sales and Access Control Configure online products and online store settings, and resolve online order issues. Configure platform access rules and media for RFID gates, and troubleshoot software-side synchronization issues. Payments and Compliance Configure platform payment settings, and serve as first-line contact for payment issues with the software vendor and payment processor. Administer platform operator accounts, roles, and permissions, and conduct periodic access reviews. Maintain application-level payment security controls and assist the IT Manager in gathering evidence for the annual payment security assessment. Work with the Accounting department to research and resolve sales and payment discrepancies. Reporting and Process Improvement Assist with SQL queries and platform reports for department managers, using read-only database access. Keep reports accurate as products and pricing change. Analyze how departments use the platform and recommend changes to configuration, products, and process flow that improve the guest experience and operational efficiency. Vendor Management, Training, and Documentation Serve as the primary contact with the software vendor, owning support cases and escalations through resolution and coordinating vendor training. Develop and maintain training materials, user guides, and checklists for each module. Train department managers and supervisors, who are responsible for training their own frontline staff using materials developed by this position. Document configurations, procedures, and changes, and cross-train IT team members to ensure continuity of knowledge. Maintain accurate work logs and reports. Assist the IT team with POS hardware setup, on-site troubleshooting, and general IT support as needed. Other duties as assigned.
