Job Title:
Service Engineer Location(s): Warren, OH Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced On-Site Service Engineer (OSE) to provide hands-on technical support for enterprise data center servers and hardware environments, including next-generation AI infrastructure. This is a hands-on server hardware and break/fix position. The ideal candidate will have direct experience diagnosing, repairing, replacing, installing, and maintaining enterprise server hardware in a data center, field service, or customer-facing environment. Prior AI infrastructure experience is not required. Strong enterprise server and data center hardware experience is the primary requirement. Key Responsibilities Provide on-site technical support for Dell PowerEdge and other enterprise server hardware. Diagnose and resolve server hardware failures and system issues to minimize customer downtime. Perform hands-on installation, removal, replacement, repair, and maintenance of server components, including: Memory/DIMMs CPUs/processors Power supplies Fans and cooling components Hard drives/SSDs
RAID/HBA
components NICs and other PCIe components GPUs and accelerator hardware Motherboards/system boards Other server components Perform rack-and-stack activities, server installation, cabling, component swaps, and hardware configuration. Troubleshoot server hardware, BIOS/firmware, operating systems, and hardware diagnostic issues. Perform BIOS and firmware updates. Use server management tools such as Dell iDRAC or comparable platforms. Execute reactive break/fix and preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures. Troubleshoot and isolate hardware failures using documented diagnostic procedures and technical resources. Work directly with customers and internal technical teams during service events. Communicate service status, troubleshooting progress, and resolution details clearly. Document service activities, hardware replacements, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately. Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate. Participate in on-call rotations and provide extended coverage as required. Required Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise servers, data center hardware, or similar infrastructure. Direct experience physically working on server hardware, including installation, removal, diagnosis, repair, and component replacement. Hands-on experience troubleshooting and replacing components such as: Memory CPUs Power supplies Storage
RAID/HBA
NICs Fans and cooling systems PCIe components GPUs Experience working with rack-mounted enterprise servers in a data center, field service, or customer environment. Strong understanding of server hardware architecture and troubleshooting methodologies. Experience with hardware diagnostics, BIOS/firmware, and server management tools. Familiarity with Linux or similar operating systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently diagnose hardware issues. Comfortable working independently in a customer-facing environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly communicate technical issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to support flexible and on-call schedules. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Dell PowerEdge servers. Dell or other enterprise hardware certifications. Experience with Dell i

iLO, or comparable server management platforms. Experience supporting GPU or AI server infrastructure. Experience with data center operations, rack-and-stack activities, structured cabling, or server deployment. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Important Note AI infrastructure experience is not required. Candidates with strong enterprise server and data center hardware experience who are willing to learn emerging AI platforms are encouraged to apply.
Additional Information Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.
On-Call:
Yes; occasional support for alternate shifts and on-call coverage required. U.S.

Commute Requirement:
