$28 Job Summary As a Business Systems Administrator Intern at BPMI, you will be responsible for assisting in the administration, maintenance, and support of BPMI business systems (e.g. Oracle Fusion Cloud) to promote reliable operations, effective security and internal controls, accurate information, and efficient business processes. You will assist users, business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party providers to support upgrades and testing, troubleshooting and training, documentation, reporting and data extraction, audit activities, and ongoing system and process improvements. This opportunity will begin Summer 2027, working a full-time schedule (40 hours/week). Please note, this is not a remote position. You will be expected to come into the office for this opportunity. Our internship will give you the opportunity to work in your field of study while simultaneously pursuing your bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. These opportunities can enhance your academic training while teaching critical business skills and allowing you to learn about BPMI, the Navy, and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.
Essential Duties:
Assist with basic maintenance and administration of BPMI business systems, including enabling and disabling users, managing role permissions, and scheduling reports under close supervision. Support system upgrades by executing test cases, documenting results, and assisting with rollout activities under significant oversight. Assist with system configuration activities by documenting configuration changes and tracking work performed by third-party consultants under supervision. Help coordinate user support activities, including answering basic system usage questions, assisting with troubleshooting, and updating system process documentation. Gather documentation and system information to support internal and external audit requests under significant oversight. Support updating procedures, user guides, training materials, and other documentation to reflect approved system or process changes. Participate in department initiatives related to process improvement, operational effectiveness, and system changes in a supporting role. Minimum Job Requirements:
Enrolled in Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Information Systems / Technology or related undergraduate degree program from an accredited college or university. Minimum of six (6) semesters completed prior to your internship (~90 credits). Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred; actively pursuing a degree in a related field. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and other common business applications. Basic knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud (Enterprise Resource Management, Supply Chain Management, and Human Capital Management) Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear technical documentation. Able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong attention to detail, deadlines, and quality. Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships and adapt to evolving project requirements while following organizational policies and procedures. Fundamental understanding of business processes and systems, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Why BPMI?
