Job Description

Cannon Instrument Company is seeking a Senior Service Engineer to join our Service team in State College, PA. This position plays a key role in supporting Cannon's global dealer network and Field Service Engineers through technical training, troubleshooting, and ongoing product support. The Senior Service Engineer will serve as a technical liaison between Cannon's dealer service teams and our internal Engineering, Production, and Service functions. The ideal candidate is a strong, technical problem-solver who enjoys sharing their knowledge, developing others, and working directly with customers and service professionals. What You'll Do Lead and continuously improve Cannon's dealer technical service training program. Provide technical support to Cannon dealers through email, phone, and virtual meetings. Develop and deliver technical training for Cannon Field Service Engineers (FSEs). Ensure newly hired FSEs receive the technical training necessary to successfully perform their roles. Serve as a technical liaison between Cannon's Production and Engineering teams and dealer service organizations. Provide technical troubleshooting and support to Cannon's in-house repair technicians. Support Production teams with technical issues related to final product testing. Identify product issues and provide input into corrective actions and quality improvements. Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of technical training and dealer support. Develop annual objectives and KPIs and track progress against established goals. Partner with Sales and other internal teams to support Cannon's international growth and service objectives. Support the continued growth and scalability of the Service organization. Travel internationally to provide regional technical training and occasional on-site support. Make occasional domestic customer visits as needed. What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field preferred. Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, or supporting technical equipment or instrumentation. Ability to understand complex technical concepts and effectively teach them to others. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with customers, dealers, technicians, engineers, and other internal teams. Ability to develop and deliver effective technical training. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to learn and effectively use Cannon's ERP and other business systems. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
