Position Summary The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, availability, and continuous improvement of the organization's technology infrastructure across multiple business locations. This role supports Microsoft 365, identity and access management, servers, networks, endpoints, backup and recovery, security platforms, and enterprise applications. The position serves as a senior technical escalation point and works directly with the IT Manager on infrastructure projects, cybersecurity initiatives, documentation, compliance, and operational improvements. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Administration
- Administer Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, storage, and core infrastructure services.
- Maintain Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificates, and privileged access controls.
- Monitor system health, capacity, performance, availability, and configuration standards.
- Plan and execute patching, upgrades, replacements, and lifecycle activities. Microsoft 365 and Cloud Services
- Administer Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, licensing, and user provisioning.
- Support identity synchronization, authentication, multifactor authentication, Conditional Access, and role-based administration.
- Implement approved configuration changes and maintain supporting documentation. Network and Connectivity
- Support LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, firewall, and internet connectivity across company locations.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues with internal teams, service providers, and vendors.
- Maintain network diagrams, configuration records, and support procedures. Security and Compliance
- Implement and maintain approved security controls across servers, endpoints, identities, and cloud services.
- Monitor and respond to security alerts in coordination with IT leadership and security partners.
- Support
CMMC 2.0, NIST SP
800-171, audit evidence collection, remediation, and control documentation where applicable.
- Follow least-privilege, change-control, logging, data-protection, and incident-response requirements. Backup, Recovery, and Continuity
- Manage backup jobs, retention, recovery testing, and remediation of failed backups.
- Maintain disaster recovery procedures and participate in continuity exercises.
- Document recovery dependencies, recovery steps, and unresolved risks. Support and Problem Management
- Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex technical issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis, document known errors, and implement corrective actions.
- Mentor support staff and improve troubleshooting guides and knowledge articles. Projects, Automation, and Documentation
- Execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, integrations, and lifecycle projects.
- Automate repeatable administration and reporting tasks when practical and approved.
- Support the responsible use of approved AI tools to improve IT operations, documentation, workflow automation, reporting, and knowledge management.
- Maintain accurate diagrams, inventories, system configurations, procedures, and change records.
- Coordinate vendor support and communicate status, risks, decisions, and dependencies to the IT Manager. Decision Authority
- Execute routine administrative tasks and approved standard changes within established procedures.
- Escalate security incidents, outages, control exceptions, high-risk changes, and business-impacting decisions.
- Recommend architecture, tools, lifecycle replacements, automation opportunities, and risk treatments.
- Pause or roll back a change when service stability, security, compliance, or data integrity may be at risk. Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of systems administration experience.
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, and endpoint management.
- Experience with enterprise networking, virtualization, backup and recovery, patching, and security operations.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, prioritization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently while communicating clearly with IT leadership, support teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to travel between company locations as needed. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure, Microsoft Defender, Sophos, Avanon, VMware or Hyper-V, Meraki, and PowerShell.
- Experience supporting a multi-site organization, manufacturing, distribution, engineering, or field operations.
- Relevant Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware, Cisco, or security certification.
- Experience supporting cybersecurity compliance frameworks and formal change-control practices.
- ERP support experience with Microsoft Business Central, Priority ERP, and Microsoft Dynamics Great-Plains.
- Familiarity with practical AI use cases that improve organization-wide productivity, process efficiency, reporting, decision support, documentation, and responsible adoption of approved AI tools. Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Primary work location is in Washington State, with regular onsite presence required.
- Eligible to work from home up to two days per week, based on business needs, job performance, and manager approval.
- Must be available for planned after-hours maintenance and occasional emergency response.
- Ability to lift and move technology equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.

Competitive Rate:
Pay range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 per year, dependent on experience with eligibility for additional quarterly incentive and discretionary year-end bonus §
