This is not a call-center helpdesk job. You'll be the dedicated on-site IT presence for a growing operation, owning every ticket at the site from first contact through resolution. And while you'll be the face of IT on-site, you won't be on an island: our full technical team is behind you for escalations, second opinions, and backup whenever you need it, and it goes both ways. The environment is hands-on and varied: one hour you're resolving a desktop issue, the next you're up on a scissor lift troubleshooting equipment in a network rack, and later that week you're in the room with software vendors as the company rolls out new automation and business systems. If you like being the person who actually knows how the whole building works, this role is built for that. Travel to the client's Orlando location is required a few times per month. Schedule & Location Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM On-site at the Plant City facility each day (this is not a remote or hybrid role), with travel to the Orlando location a few times per month Paid holidays After hours: our corporate HQ team handles remote after-hours support. You serve as the emergency site contact for the occasional issue that requires someone physically on-site. All tools and equipment provided What You'll Do Own all IT support tickets at the Florida sites, including desktop, peripheral, and user support across the facility Support and maintain the building's network infrastructure (switching, wireless, cabling, rack equipment) Perform physical troubleshooting of network equipment, including occasional work at height on a scissor lift Participate in meetings with software vendors and site represenatives as new automation and systems are implemented. You'll be a voice in how technology gets deployed, not just the person who fixes it afterward Document work in our ticketing system and use RMM tooling for monitoring and remediation When Florida is quiet, pitch in remotely on tickets for our other clients. Your site is always priority one, but slow days don't mean boring days. This keeps you connected to the rest of the team and sharp across a wider range of environments than a single site can offer Travel to the Orlando site a few times per month for on-site support Work Environment This is a food manufacturing facility, and all on-site staff follow the client's facility policies, including food safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements. Examples include wearing a hair net (and beard net, where applicable), removing jewelry and watches in production areas, and observing the site's allergen controls (this is a peanut-free facility, and peanut products are not permitted anywhere on the grounds). The client sets these policies and full details are provided during onboarding. Expect a mix of office and production-floor work, and regular interaction with plant staff who depend on the systems you keep running. Required Experience 2+ years in an IT support role with demonstrated Level 2 capability (you resolve escalations, you don't just create them) Microsoft Windows 10/11 desktop support in a business environment Microsoft Windows Server fundamentals (AD, DNS, DHCP, file/print) Hands-on exposure to ThreatLocker (or comparable application allowlisting) Hands-on exposure to Huntress (or comparable EDR/MDR platform) Experience working within an RMM platform and a professional ticketing system Comfortable working independently. You'll have remote escalation support, but you are the front line on-site representative Comfortable with occasional work at height (scissor lift) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for Orlando travel Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check Big Pluses Juniper Networks experience (switching, routing) Fortinet experience (firewalling, switching, routing) ERP system exposure: support, administration, or implementation Fiber optic experience: terminations, testing, patching, and/or troubleshooting MSP background (multi-client mindset, ticket discipline) Microsoft certifications Networking certifications of any kind (Juniper, Cisco, or others) Compensation & Benefits $60,000-$67,000/year, posted up front. No games, no "DOE" mystery box. Health and dental insurance stipend 401(k) with employer contributions Paid time off and paid holidays Paid training and certifications for candidates who want to keep learning All tools and equipment provided Why This Role We're paying to keep you, not to churn through techs We are a close-knit team. You would be the fifth member of the team, so you will work closely with your colleagues on a regular basis. Desktop, networking, physical infrastructure, and vendor-facing project work in one role The client is actively investing in automation and new systems; you'll get project exposure most helpdesk roles never see. Garden State Computing is an equal opportunity employer.
