Full Job Description Job Description:
Our customer is seeking a Site Infrastructure Leader to support one of its largest commercial engine overhaul facilities in Wales, UK, with approximately 1,600 employees and 200+ engines in various stages of overhaul. From disassembly and inspection through repair, assembly and testing, production relies on stable Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure. When technology goes down, production and engine deliveries can be impacted. This person will own the day-to-day health of the site's non-SAP IT/OT infrastructure, including two critical engine test facilities, while coordinating onsite Managed Service Providers (MSPs), contractors and specialized technical teams to manage priorities, resolve issues and improve reliability. We're looking for someone with a strong hands-on infrastructure background who has progressed into leading technical work in a manufacturing or industrial shop-floor environment. They need broad technical knowledge, the ability to troubleshoot and direct technical teams, and a practical, customer-driven approach to keeping production running.
Requirements:
8+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including hands-on experience supporting manufacturing or industrial shop-floor operations, with demonstrated experience leading technical work or teams. Experience leading onsite MSPs, contractors or technical teams, including setting priorities, tracking KPIs, managing escalations and holding resources accountable for delivery. Direct reports are not required. Experience supporting IT/OT infrastructure connected to manufacturing equipment and production machinery, including network connectivity, system monitoring, patching and maintaining uptime to prevent production disruptions. Practical networking knowledge across switches, VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks), wireless controllers and site connectivity, with the ability to troubleshoot common issues and work with specialized network engineers. Broad working knowledge of servers/storage, virtualization, backup/recovery and Digital Workplace (desktops, laptops, mobile devices and printers). Able to understand issues, coordinate specialized teams and drive resolution without being the technical expert in every area. Experience coordinating critical infrastructure incidents (P0/P1) using ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)-based processes, including troubleshooting, escalations and service restoration to minimize production downtime. Working knowledge of IT/OT cybersecurity, compliance and data protection, including coordinating patching and vulnerability remediation with centralized security teams. Strong communication skills and a hands-on, customer-driven mindset, able to explain technical issues, risks and production impact to site leadership.
Nice to have:
• Aerospace, aviation or Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) experience. Experience supporting engine test cells or similar production-critical testing environments. Experience implementing, expanding or modernizing OT networks or industrial infrastructure.
Responsibilities :
Own day-to-day health and support of the site's non-SAP IT/OT infrastructure supporting engine overhaul and shop-floor production. Set priorities and coordinate onsite MSPs, contractors and technical teams, tracking service delivery, KPIs and escalations. Lead site-level coordination during P0/P1 infrastructure incidents, engaging specialized teams and restoring service to minimize production impact. Partner with centralized network, server/storage, Digital Workplace and cybersecurity teams to troubleshoot and resolve site infrastructure issues. Support infrastructure for two critical engine test facilities, coordinating connectivity, servers, firewalls and supporting equipment with technical teams, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and service providers. Drive infrastructure patching, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, asset management and preventative maintenance.
