About us Scott Alan Homes is a homebuilder in coastal Delaware. We also build Cornerstone PM, the scheduling, purchasing, and budgeting platform we run our own homes on. Every schedule, vendor PO, and budget at Scott Alan Homes flows through software we wrote. We ship a feature one week and use it on a jobsite the next. We build with an AI-first engineering process. Our dev pipeline is a set of AI coding agents directed by the owner. We need a developer who can work inside that pipeline, verify what the agents produce, and own the parts that need a human. What you'll do Write and ship code for Cornerstone PM. Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, Postgres, Prisma. Fix bugs, build features, review AI-generated pull requests, and keep the typecheck green. Maintain the platform. Monitor deploys on Vercel, triage issues from the field, manage data imports, write the occasional SQL migration, keep vendor and template data clean. Train new users. Onboard PMs, purchasing staff, and subcontractors. Write docs, record walkthroughs, run live sessions. Help market it. Build demos and content that show how we actually build homes with the product. Represent it with other builders. Build new home budgets for Scott Alan Homes. Turn floorplans, elevations, and design selections into cost-coded budgets: takeoffs, vendor bids, awarded pricing, purchase orders. This is how you learn what the software has to do. Cross into construction. Work alongside our superintendent and purchasing so the code reflects how homes actually get built. What we require Heavy, daily AI usage. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, or similar as your primary way of writing software. You will be asked for proof: repos, commit history, or a live session where you ship something with an AI agent in front of us. "I've used ChatGPT" does not count. Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and React. A year or two of real projects. School, bootcamp, or self-taught are all fine if you can show the work. Basic SQL and comfort with a relational database. Git. Branches, PRs, reading a diff. Strong writing and teaching. Half this job is explaining the software to people who don't write code. Self-directed. Small team, fast pace, no hand-holding. Nice to have Next.js, Prisma, Postgres, Vercel. Any residential construction, estimating, or purchasing exposure. Experience with Buildertrend, CoConstruct, Procore, or similar. QuickBooks API or integrations work. Why this job is different You report directly to the owner. Your code goes to production and gets used on real homes within days. You will learn full-stack development inside an AI-driven workflow and learn how a homebuilder operates end to end, at the same time. There is no ladder of senior engineers between you and the product. How to apply Send a resume, a GitHub link (or equivalent), and a short note on how you use AI coding tools day to day. Include one concrete thing you built with them. The interview includes a live build exercise with an AI agent.
