Description The Data Integrations Specialist is responsible for the development, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of data integrations between Ellucian Banner SaaS and the College's enterprise applications. Reporting to the Manager, Applications and Integrations, this position serves as the primary technical resource for API-based integrations, data exchange processes, SQL development, and data validation activities that support secure and reliable information sharing across institutional systems. The Data Integrations Specialist works closely with the Banner Operations Lead, functional departments, application owners, vendors, and third-party consultants to ensure enterprise data is accurately, securely, and efficiently exchanged between Banner SaaS, Ethos, Slate, Canvas, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, TeamDynamix, Power BI, Argos, and other institutional platforms. Essential Functions/Duties Design, develop, test, implement, document, and maintain API integrations between Ellucian Banner SaaS and enterprise applications. Develop and support Ethos Integration workflows and APIs. Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and scripts. Monitor integration processes and troubleshoot failures. Validate data accuracy between source and destination systems. Support ODS, Data Warehouse, reporting, and analytics initiatives. Maintain integration documentation and technical standards. Assist with Banner SaaS upgrades, testing, and vendor changes. Support cybersecurity and compliance initiatives. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications Required Skills:
SQL development API integration experience Knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and enterprise integration technologies, including API authentication, data transformation, and secure data exchange methods. Knowledge of data governance principles, data stewardship practices, data quality management, source-of-record concepts, and secure data exchange requirements within enterprise higher education systems. Understanding of cybersecurity standards and secure application development awareness, analytical and troubleshooting skills. Working Conditions/Additional Information This is a full-time, on-campus position within the Information Technology Services department. Must have the ability to work proficiently in a busy, multi-office work area. Must be flexible and able to adapt well to changes. Work hours may include evenings and weekends as needed to support system upgrades, maintenance windows, and critical operational activities. Travel between Polk State College campuses and centers may be required. Frequent use of computers and office technology is required. Salary and Benefits Information This position is level P14 . Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Education:
A master's degree in the above fields is preferred.
Required Experience :
Three years of experience supporting integrations, databases, APIs, enterprise applications, and SQL development. Experience developing, supporting, and troubleshooting API-based integrations between enterprise applications, including data mapping, transformation, and synchronization activities. Experience validating and reconciling data across multiple systems using SQL queries, reports, and automated processes to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity. Experience supporting data governance, data quality, security, and compliance initiatives through the implementation of data validation controls, audit processes, and secure data exchange practices.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Banner SaaS, Ethos. Experience managing and maintaining an ODS or Data Warehouse. Experience maintaining data integrations with Slate, Canvas, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Power BI, and Argos. Experience in higher education environments.
Alternative Credentials:
High School Diploma or equivalent with 7 years of direct experience. or Associate's degree with 5 years of direct experience.
