Java 21, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, AWS, AI Development Tools About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Java / AWS Software Engineer to join a leading media and technology organization. The ideal candidate will be a strong hands-on engineer with deep expertise in modern Java development, cloud-native architecture, and end-to-end application delivery. This role requires someone who can independently design, develop, optimize, deploy, and support scalable enterprise applications in AWS environments. Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java 21, Spring Boot, and microservices. Build, integrate, and maintain APIs using REST and GraphQL . Develop, deploy, and support cloud-native applications on AWS. Own end-to-end application development, from architecture and design through production deployment. Required Technical Skills Java 21 (or strong modern Java experience) Spring Boot and Microservices REST APIs and GraphQL AWS Cloud Services End-to-End Application Development and Production Deployment Preferred Skills Multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization Kafka and event-driven architecture Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD AI-assisted development tools Ideal Candidate Profile We are particularly interested in engineers who combine: Deep Java expertise: Strong command of Java, spring boot, graphql and performance optimization.
AWS proficiency:
Proven ability to deploy and manage production applications in AWS.
End-to-end ownership:
Ability to take an application from initial concept through successful production launch.
Hands-on engineering:
Comfortable writing code, solving complex problems, and making technical decisions.
Modern development mindset:
Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and emerging engineering practices. The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who can independently architect, build, deploy, and maintain production-grade applications—not simply someone who has worked on individual components of larger projects.
Pay:
$70.00 - $80.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
