Overview Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a major national laboratory. The successful candidate shall be proficient in the following areas: custom computer programming, commercial-off-the-shelf application configuration and customization, report development, dev-ops, scripting, and testing. Responsibilities Deploy, configure, and maintain OpenMetadata on OpenShift/Kubernetes. Manage containers, Helm deployments, configurations, services, secrets, and resources. Monitor platform health, logs, and resource use; troubleshoot issues. Perform upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance. Configure and support metadata connectors and integrations (e.g., Oracle, Denodo). Oversee security, authentication, access controls, and credential management. Support backup, recovery, incident resolution, and monitoring. Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, data engineering, and governance teams. Maintain documentation, procedures, and runbooks. Manage deployment, configuration, and operational support of the enterprise OpenMetadata platform on an on-premises Red Hat OpenShift environment, ensuring availability, performance, security, and integration with enterprise data systems. Responsible for technical administration and operational reliability of Open Metadata. Metadata governance and business stewardship are managed by designated governance and business teams. Qualifications BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 5 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job. US Citizenship is required Candidate can reside outside the Albuquerque area but would be needed to travel to Albuquerque as needed

Required Skills:

OpenMetadata Platform Administrator (OpenShift/Kubernetes) Must have experience with Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes administration. Knowledge of containers, Helm, YAML, Linux, networking, and storage. Skilled in monitoring, troubleshooting, patching, and production support. Understanding of security, authentication, and access management. Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment automation.

Desired Skills:

Experience with Red Hat OpenShift. Experience with OpenMetadata or similar metadata catalog platforms. Knowledge of metadata ingestion, data discovery, and integration tools. Familiarity with Oracle, Denodo, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch. Experience in Python and/or Java development. Experience with Kubernetes-native workflow orchestration or Apache Airflow.
