Job Description
I am looking for a Software Packaging & Application Lifecycle Engineer to support the packaging, deployment, maintenance, and retirement of applications across an enterprise Windows environment. A true application packaging/deployment person.
This person will work closely with Desktop Engineering, Infrastructure, Service Desk, application owners, and other IT teams to ensure software is packaged correctly, tested, deployed, patched, and maintained throughout its lifecycle.
This will be a 6-12-month contract to start, onsite 3 days. Key ResponsibilitiesPackage and deploy applications using Microsoft Intune and MECM/SCCM.Create, test, document, and maintain software packages.
Develop installation, uninstall, detection, and deployment rules.
Support software deployments through Intune, Company Portal, Microsoft Store, and MECM/Software Center.
Test applications and deployments across different Windows devices and user scenarios.
Troubleshoot software installation and deployment issues.
Support application upgrades, patching, and version updates.
Work with application owners and vendors to resolve application issues.
Maintain an inventory of applications and their current versions and support status.
Help identify outdated, unsupported, or unnecessary applications for retirement.
Follow established software deployment and lifecycle processes.
Document application packaging, deployment, and support information.
