As the Applications Developer 2, you will need to provide pivotal support in the design, development, and maintenance of Banner software applications. You will be an active member of the Computing & Communications team and will work closely with the Senior Application Developer to provide the ESU campus community with integral reports or programs. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your previous application development or computer programming experience with your information technology background all while conducting detailed studies to ensure information continuously flows in the system. To be successful in this role, the applicant must use a methodical approach when troubleshooting issues to properly recreate & diagnose them, utilize critical thinking to independently solve problems, and skillfully collaborate with departments to configure ancillary systems to best support the ESU campus community. Your normal hours will be Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, but you may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Applications Developer 2. When our team shows up for work, they are energized and motivated to succeed - all while being the most crucial piece to keeping the ESU operations humming. What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties) Design and implement web-based solutions for user access to administrative data and functions. Integrating data from varied sources. Customize and implement portal and other vendor products. Integrating existing systems with new systems. Participate in design and implementation of unified authorization system. Develop security scheme and maintenance mechanisms. Independent design and development of real-time and/or batch interfaces using application specific tools and/or web services. Meets with clients to determine manual or automated processing inefficiencies or problems, business objectives and operational needs. Participates in the development of criteria to evaluate complex user applications and determine whether systems can be created using packaged desktop PC software or require traditional application development efforts. Serves as a team member on highly complex departmental systems development projects that involve critical business processes, numerous variables and diverse operational requirements. What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications) One year as an Applications Developer 1 or Computer Programmer 3. or Two years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field. or Four years of information technology experience that includes two years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance. Able to think critically and apply critical thinking skills to solve problems independently; make independent decisions that support the needs of the University and its students Able to quickly pivot between work tasks when unplanned events occur that need immediate attention. Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Word (tables, reports, merging), Excel (formulas, pivot tables, graphs), MS Teams, etc.2+ years experience with relational database and web development. Experience supporting users of computers and information systems. Knowledge of PC spreadsheets anddatabase access tools. SQL programming experience required, Oracle Weblogic, C#, Insomina, Postman, Bruno, GITHub, and experience with both UNIX and Windows preferred. Desired Experience in developing and supporting the following areas: Ellucian Ethos API Integrations (Spec-Based and Ellucian Partner), Ellucian Experience platform, Ellucian WorkFlow, Evisions ARGOS Reporting Environment, ISE Integrations and Job Scheduling, Ellucian Insights.
