Manager, Software Development - (Multiple Openings)

DUTIES:

Provide direction and day-to-day management of development staff to ensure that application development projects are prioritized, scheduled and completed according to business needs. Guide and mentor associates in their career development and foster collaboration. Conduct performance reviews and set standards for quality. Ensure on-time and defect free delivery of applications in accordance with Penske standards. Assists IT leadership in defining enterprise architecture and responsible for identifying appropriate tools and technologies to optimize team activities (including code development, testing, etc.). Lead daily standup with dev team, resolve blockers, and ensure proper prioritization. Responsible for multiple systems and cross-functional projects. This role is 100% remote.

REQUIREMENTS:

Main Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or closely related field plus five (5) years of experience as Developer, Engineer, Manager, or any occupation in which the required experience was gained.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Plus demonstrated experience in:

• Core Technologies for technical infrastructure and applications including JAVA, iSeries, WebSphere, Data Communications/Integration, Database, Hardware, and ETL;
• Defining application architecture and system integration requirements on multi-tiered application systems;
• Hands-on based design and development experience;
• Distributed database environments and related database concepts;
• Leading or supervising multiple IT projects through the full SDLC (system development life cycle) in a large complex software application;
• Knowledge in Spring framework, HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAX;
• RAD 6, WebSphere 5.1/6.0, J2EE design patterns, EJB technology, and SOA using Web Services;
• Broad exposure to enterprise technologies and systems;
• Experience prioritizing technology needs within set budget requirements.
