Job Summary Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed | Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates | Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions | Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs Impact of the Role General Profile Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work Leads others to solve complex problems Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations May lead functional teams or projects Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Essential Functions Responsible for testing standard and/or custom products and equipment to assess their performance and reliability. Ensures products are designed and implemented in accordance to established quality standards and specifications. Serves as a primary source for problem identification and improvement. Selects testing specifications for new/existing products and ensures testing procedures are in compliance to industry standards. Documents procedures for all phases of testing and test results. Improves and automates the test methodology. Required Qualifications Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience
Discipline/Major:
Engineering degree required Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree Knowledge, skills & abilities: Conformance testing. Product testing. Test engineering. Quality standard development. Bug/defect identification. Industry standards. Test documentation. Bug tracking software. Software testing tools. Oral and written communication skills. Critical thinking. Analytical thinking. Physical Requirements Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. This position is Safety-Sensitive.
