RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client in Brea, CA that is seeking a Test Engineer to lead quality engineering and test automation for complex enterprise applications. This is a remote position requiring strong hands-on technical skills and the ability to drive testing strategy across teams.

Responsibilities:

• Own test strategy for major releases, integrations, and system changes
• Build and maintain automated functional, API, integration, regression, and data-validation tests
• Translate requirements into test scenarios, test data, acceptance criteria, and coverage
• Validate business rules, data transformations, configurations, and downstream impacts
• Lead testing through QA signoff, release readiness, production validation, and defect resolution
• Perform root-cause analysis and partner with developers, product owners, business teams, and DevOps
• Improve automation coverage, testing efficiency, and quality standards
• Mentor test engineers and provide technical direction

REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years in software testing, quality engineering, or test automation, including Staff/Lead-level experience
• Strong programming/scripting skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, or similar
• Experience building automation frameworks
• Strong API, integration, database, SQL, data-validation, and batch-testing skills
• Experience with Jira, TestRail, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, regression testing, defect management, and risk-based testing
• Experience leading QA across large enterprise systems

Preferred:

• Insurance, financial, transactional, or data-intensive system experience
• Duck Creek, rating engines, policy systems, or similar platforms
• Cloud and event-driven integration experience
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering/testing tools The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.

We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
