SUMERU TECHNOLOGIES LLC
is seeking an experienced and results-driven Teamcenter Test Lead to lead quality assurance and testing activities for Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) implementations, customizations, integrations, upgrades, and enhancements. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Teamcenter application testing, test strategy development, test planning, test execution, defect management, and quality assurance methodologies. The Teamcenter Test Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure that Teamcenter solutions meet business requirements, functional specifications, technical standards, and end-user expectations. This role requires close collaboration with business analysts, PLM functional consultants, solution architects, developers, system administrators, project managers, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead a team of testers, coordinate testing activities across multiple workstreams, identify quality risks, and ensure the timely delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-quality PLM solutions. The candidate should have hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter modules, enterprise application testing, data migration validation, interface testing, and integration with engineering and manufacturing systems. Key Responsibilities1. Test Strategy and Planning Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test schedules for Teamcenter implementation and enhancement projects. Define testing scope, objectives, entry and exit criteria, resource requirements, dependencies, and deliverables. Establish testing standards, methodologies, templates, and best practices aligned with organizational quality objectives. Identify project risks and dependencies and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. Coordinate functional, integration, regression, system, user acceptance, and end-to-end testing activities. Ensure traceability between business requirements, functional specifications, test cases, and reported defects. 2. Teamcenter Functional Testing Lead testing activities for Siemens Teamcenter PLM applications, including product data management, item and revision management, datasets, BOM management, workflows, access controls, and change management. Validate Teamcenter business processes related to engineering data management, product configuration, document management, and product lifecycle workflows. Test Teamcenter solutions involving engineering change management, release procedures, approvals, and lifecycle status transitions. Verify business rules, access permissions, user roles, and configuration settings. Collaborate with functional consultants and business users to understand requirements and validate expected system behavior. Assess the impact of customizations, configuration changes, and new functionality on existing business processes. 3. Integration and Interface Testing Lead integration testing between Teamcenter and connected enterprise applications, including CAD tools, ERP systems, manufacturing applications, and other PLM-related solutions. Validate integrations involving NX, Solid Edge, SAP, Oracle, and other relevant enterprise systems, where applicable to the project. Verify data exchange, interface mappings, synchronization, error handling, and transaction consistency. Coordinate testing of APIs, middleware, batch interfaces, and automated data transfer processes. Investigate integration failures and work with technical teams to resolve defects and validate corrective actions. 4. Test Execution and Defect Management Oversee the preparation, execution, documentation, and reporting of test cases across testing cycles. Monitor test progress, execution coverage, defect trends, and quality metrics. Manage defect identification, logging, prioritization, assignment, retesting, and closure. Facilitate defect triage meetings with development, functional, integration, and business teams. Analyze recurring issues and recommend preventive actions to improve software quality. Ensure that critical and high-priority defects are resolved or formally addressed before release approval. 5. Data Migration and Validation Lead testing and validation of legacy data migration into Teamcenter environments. Verify migrated items, revisions, datasets, document relationships, BOM structures, metadata, lifecycle states, and associated attachments. Validate data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and integrity before and after migration. Develop reconciliation procedures and document migration test results. Coordinate with migration developers and business stakeholders to investigate discrepancies and confirm data acceptance criteria. 6. Regression and Automation Testing Develop regression testing strategies to validate existing functionality after system upgrades, patches, configuration changes, and enhancements. Identify suitable test cases for automation and collaborate with automation engineers to improve test coverage and efficiency. Evaluate appropriate testing tools and frameworks based on project requirements. Maintain reusable test assets and ensure automated test scripts remain reliable as Teamcenter functionality evolves. Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce repetitive manual testing and accelerate release cycles. 7. Leadership and Stakeholder Coordination Lead, mentor, and guide a team of functional, integration, and technical testers. Allocate testing tasks, monitor team performance, and ensure adherence to project timelines. Coordinate with project managers, business analysts, developers, architects, and business users to resolve testing dependencies. Communicate testing status, risks, blockers, defect summaries, and quality assessments to stakeholders. Provide recommendations on release readiness based on test results, unresolved defects, and business risk. Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the testing team. 8. Documentation and Quality Reporting Prepare test execution reports, defect dashboards, traceability matrices, test summary reports, and release readiness assessments. Maintain accurate records of test evidence, results, approvals, and defect resolutions. Ensure testing activities comply with project governance, quality standards, and documentation requirements. Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, team productivity, and overall delivery quality. Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Typically, 1-15 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, including substantial experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM. Demonstrated experience leading testing teams in enterprise application implementation, upgrade, migration, or integration projects. Strong understanding of Teamcenter architecture, PLM concepts, product structures, BOMs, workflows, access management, and change management. Experience in functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing. Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, HP ALM, Azure DevOps, or equivalent platforms. Experience with SQL and database validation techniques for data verification and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Teamcenter integrations with CAD, ERP, and engineering applications. Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, documentation, communication, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Siemens Teamcenter certification or relevant PLM training. Experience with Teamcenter upgrades, deployments, customization validation, and environment testing. Familiarity with Teamcenter RAC, Active Workspace, BMIDE-related configuration testing, and ITK or SOA-based integrations, as applicable. Exposure to test automation frameworks, API testing, and performance testing. Experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or other engineering-intensive industries. Knowledge of change control, configuration management, and enterprise release management processes. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) The Teamcenter Test Lead will be evaluated based on: Test coverage and requirements traceability. Defect detection effectiveness and defect leakage rates. Testing milestone adherence and execution efficiency. Accuracy and completeness of test documentation. Regression testing effectiveness and automation opportunities. Quality of stakeholder communication and reporting. Readiness assessments and support for successful production releases. Work Environment and Collaboration The position requires working collaboratively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
