Preferred Education
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related fieldRequired Qualifications
  • Experience using common hand tools
  • Experience writing test procedures and equipment standard operating instructions
  • Understanding of equipment calibration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interpret and follow test procedures
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and equipment vendors
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to operate a pallet jackPreferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating FTIR and DSC calorimeters
  • Consumer products industry experience
  • Experience working with international testing standards
  • Experience working in a test performance laboratory
  • Experience purchasing mechanical and electronic testing machinesJob Summary
  • The Test Lab Technician will set up and perform manual, automated, materials, and environmental performance testing across Newell Brands product lines while following applicable standards and strict testing timelines
  • The position requires precise test execution, monitoring of test controls, accurate documentation, and effective communication of results through verbal updates and formal test reports
  • The technician will also document equipment information, develop work instructions for test technicians, support calibration scheduling, assist with lab organization, handle and dispose of testing samples, and provide support for performance testing activitiesKey Responsibilities
  • Assist Test Engineering with acquiring and setting up new test equipment
  • Set up and perform manual testing according to applicable procedures and standards
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with electronic and mechanical test equipment
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills when working with laboratory equipment
  • Work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Communicate effectively with technicians, engineers, and external equipment vendors
  • Learn new technologies, equipment, and procedures through on-the-job training
  • Handle, label, and properly dispose of test samples
  • Assist with performance testing and laboratory organization
  • Document equipment information and testing results
  • Create test procedures and standard operating instructions for equipment
  • Support equipment calibration activities and scheduling
