Job Description An employer is seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer (SDET) to help modernize and expand automation efforts across critical enterprise retail pharmacy applications. The team is currently heavily dependent on manual testing, which has become a bottleneck for product releases and application enhancements. This engineer will be responsible for designing and developing scalable automated testing solutions, creating robust test data strategies, and driving increased automation coverage across UI and integrated systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can work independently, quickly learn complex business workflows, and leverage modern technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, to improve testing efficiency and quality. We're looking for a true automation-first engineer who enjoys investigating how systems work, identifying testing gaps, and developing innovative solutions. This person should be comfortable owning automation efforts, working directly with engineering teams, and proactively driving quality improvements without extensive oversight.

Responsibilities include:

•  Design, develop, and maintain automated UI test scripts and frameworks
•  Increase automation coverage to reduce reliance on manual testing and accelerate release cycles
•  Build and manage test data required for complex testing scenarios
•  Analyze application functionality and business processes to identify automation opportunities
•  Partner directly with development, product, and QA teams to understand requirements and testing needs
•  Troubleshoot failed test cases and perform root cause analysis
•  Enhance and maintain existing automation frameworks while contributing new solutions and best practices
•  Navigate complex system workflows independently with minimal supervision
•  Leverage AI-enabled tools and modern testing techniques to improve productivity and test effectiveness
•  Develop creative solutions for challenging automation and data-validation scenarios

Pay:

•  5+ years of experience in QA Automation, Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), or Test Automation Engineering
•  Expert-level experience with Playwright, Selenium, and Cucumber (BDD)
•  Development experience in Java and/or Python
•  Strong experience developing reusable automation frameworks and test architecture
•  Experience writing automated UI, functional, regression, and end-to-end test suites
•  Ability to operate independently with minimal direction
•  Experience using AI-powered development or testing tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to improve testing efficiency and automation coverage
•  Experience with Angular-based applications
•  Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
