Job Description

Header Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented PCBA Hardware Validation Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the reliability, performance, and compliance of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) used in cutting-edge electronic systems. Your expertise will drive the validation processes that guarantee our products meet rigorous quality standards and industry regulations. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate engineer eager to contribute to high-stakes hardware development and validation projects. Duties Develop comprehensive validation plans for PCBAs, including testing protocols for electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance. Execute detailed hardware testing procedures utilizing oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers, and other testing equipment to verify circuit functionality. Conduct root cause analysis on hardware failures or anomalies, identifying design or manufacturing issues and recommending corrective actions. Collaborate with design engineers to review schematics, PCB layouts, and system specifications ensuring compliance with electrical standards such as NEC and NFPA 70. Utilize CAD software like AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or MicroStation to review and modify PCB layouts and mechanical enclosures. Perform firmware validation in conjunction with hardware tests using programming languages such as C++, Python, Perl, or SystemVerilog. Support manufacturing by reviewing PCB fabrication processes including surface mount technology (SMT), soldering techniques, and assembly procedures to ensure quality control. Engage in system development verification using simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink and CAD-based simulation environments. Lead project scheduling efforts to ensure timely completion of validation milestones while coordinating cross-disciplinary teams. Implement automation scripts to streamline testing workflows and improve efficiency in engineering testing environments. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees preferred. Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role focused on electronics design and validation. Extensive knowledge of PCB design principles, schematic capture, electrical system design, and circuit analysis. Hands-on experience with FPGA development, SystemVerilog coding, firmware programming (C++, Python), and debugging techniques. Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks or MicroStation for electrical schematic design and mechanical integration. Familiarity with signal processing techniques and control systems used in complex electronic systems. Strong understanding of electrical building codes (NEC) and safety standards including NFPA 70 compliance. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ARM-based microcontrollers like Arduino or ARM Cortex platforms. Skilled in using simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink for system modeling and verification. Ability to perform troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, vision inspection systems, and other diagnostic tools. Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while adhering to project schedules. Strong communication skills for collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and documentation of validation procedures. Join us to be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to pioneering high-quality electronic solutions. Your expertise will help shape the future of innovative hardware products while advancing your career in a vibrant engineering environment.
