Job Description

QA Software Engineer Our client is a specialized business division of an S&P 500, multi-billion-dollar global powerhouse with over a century of proven industry leadership. As premier innovators in software, advanced diagnostics, e-commerce, and technical service solutions, they empower professionals across the automotive, commercial, and industrial sectors worldwide. They are seeking a QA Software Engineer to validate software and hardware products within their diagnostic and vehicle technology sectors. This role requires a solid foundation in validation testing, vehicle communication protocols, and system integration. In this role, you will develop and execute comprehensive test plans, collaborate with cross-functional software development teams, and support onboard system deployments. Product Validation & Testing:
Validate software and hardware products to ensure full compliance with functional, performance, and customer requirements.
Test Plan Development:
Develop, document, and execute repeatable test plans and validation procedures throughout the product development lifecycle.
Defect Management:
Identify, document, and track product defects and specification gaps in close partnership with software engineering teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Participate in project team meetings to analyze validation requirements, support application testing, and ensure overall product readiness.
System & Customer Support:
Develop installation and user support documentation for onboard systems, providing field and customer installation support as needed.
Hands-on Field Operations:
Support general team operational needs, which may include ECU wiring/minor soldering, procuring and driving test vehicles, and cataloging test equipment. What
YOU NEED
to SUCCEED in this challenging role:
Experience:
2+ years of experience in software, systems, or product validation and testing.
Testing & Tools:
Proven experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and validation procedures, with working knowledge of common engineering/test management tools and Microsoft Office.
Vehicle Protocols & Diagnostics:
Familiarity with vehicle communication protocols, onboard diagnostic (OBD) systems, and diagnostic tools.
Domain Knowledge:
Understanding of automotive and/or heavy-duty vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, and related control systems.
Problem Solving & Communication:
Strong troubleshooting skills paired with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent experience considered). What is in it for YOU?
