Type:
intern Mission The A-C Electric Company Internship Experience Program provides a hands-on, problem-solving learning opportunity for students interested in technology, systems management, and IT support in a construction industry setting. Over the course of this 10-week summer internship , you will work closely with our IT department to gain experience in hardware and software troubleshooting, user support, network administration, cybersecurity, and system optimization . You will also participate in professional development, networking events, and a capstone project aimed at improving company IT operations.

Desired Majors:
Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity Key Responsibilities:
Over the course of our 10-week internship experience you will have the opportunity to: Provide technical support to office and field staff, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues Assist with new user setup , including device configuration, software installation, and account management Support network administration tasks such as monitoring network performance, resolving connectivity issues, and managing access controls Help maintain IT asset inventory , ensuring records of equipment assignments and software licenses are accurate Assist in cybersecurity initiatives , including system updates, security patches, and user training on safe computing practices Work with the IT team to evaluate, test, and implement software solutions that enhance productivity and project management Participate in the development and documentation of IT processes and best practices Join Book Club assignments to improve communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills Contribute to a LEAN project that focuses on improving IT workflows, service delivery, or user satisfaction, with a final presentation to company leadership

Learn about career paths in IT support, systems administration, and cybersecurity Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience): Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 Enrolled student attending a college or university with an expected graduation on or before August 2029 Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): We're looking for students who have shown solid academic performance - at least a 3.0 GPA in upper-division courses for your major, or a 2.75 GPA overall. Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations. Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research, or engineering internships. Exceptional communication skills, interest, and enthusiasm related to electrical engineering and/or construction.
Relocation:
Must be able to relocate to Bakersfield, CA for the entirety of the internship.
