Description The DevOps Intern directly contributes to the success of the company by providing additional support to the DevOps team. This position will support the DevOps team with the implementation of automation initiatives, infrastructure improvements, and operational projects. The DevOps Intern will gain hands-on experience working with various technologies while working directly alongside IT professionals. Over the course of the summer, this intern will also work on a project relevant to business needs and give a final presentation on the project at the conclusion of the internship. This is a temporary, seasonal position for the summer of 2027 and is open to rising seniors in college or those who have obtained their degree. Expected pay will be $15.00 to $17.00 per hour with the ability to work up to 40 hours per week at our headquarters in Overland Park, KS. This is an on-site position, starting Tuesday, May 25, 2027 and lasting until Friday, August 6, 2027.
Responsibilities:
Work through a project that involves interacting with other engineers and software such as Zabbix, GitLab, ControlUp, etc. and will provide meaningful value back to the business Assist with maintaining and monitoring cloud infrastructure, servers, and development environments Help build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate application testing, deployment, and releases Support troubleshooting of deployment issues and improve automation, monitoring, and infrastructure documentation/projects Support managed services team in maintaining hardware, software, applications, and other systems for customers Interact with all other managed services teams, as well as security, systems, networking, and higher tiered support Requirements Strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills Excellent customer service skills Must handle multiple assignments simultaneously while placing proper prioritization on tasks Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment Professionally assertive Bachelor's degree in an information technology related field completed or in progress (must be at minimum, a rising senior)
Role Expectations:
Will be available via Slack, email, and phone to provide timely answers to team members, vendors, and customers Must report to the Choice Solutions headquarters located in Overland Park, KS during the assigned shift Assist the team where needed by actively working on customer issues, handling calls, assisting other team members in issue resolutions, etc. Contribute to the ongoing development of the team by sharing knowledge, experience, and expertise with other team members Must directly interact with various customers Ability to work within a team, both in-person and through virtual media outlets Detail-oriented and process driven to see tickets through to resolution and/or escalation
