Job Description

Position:

IT Intern Reports to: Director of IT -

Kerry Bruce Pay:

$17.00 per hour

Length of Internship:

10-20 weeks

Weekly Hours:

Up to 29 hours per week

When Work Happens:

Monday - Friday during normal business hours (7:00 am -3:30 pm); flexible to accommodate class schedules

Position Summary:

B&D Industries, Inc. is a family-owned and operated, best-in-class electrical, mechanical, plumbing, technology, and HVAC contractor with more than 65 years of experience delivering high-quality construction and service solutions. Offered in partnership with CNM, B&D's paid internship program provides students the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while gaining hands-on, real-world experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The IT Support Intern will assist the IT team with entry-level technical support and administrative tasks while gaining exposure to enterprise systems, professional IT operations, and workplace expectations in a fast-paced environment that values collaboration, learning, and a fun workplace culture.

Responsibilities:

Assist with providing basic technical support to employees for desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals, both in person and remotely Gain exposure to troubleshooting of common hardware, software, and connectivity issues under the direction of senior IT staff Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Help prepare, configure, and deploy workstations, laptops, and mobile devices for new hires and existing employees Assist with basic user account tasks such as password resets, access requests, and account updates Support inventory tracking and organization of IT equipment, including laptops, mobile devices, accessories, and peripherals Assist with documenting support requests, asset records, and basic IT procedures to ensure accurate records are maintained Help ensure IT equipment is properly maintained, stored, and reported when issues arise Escalate technical issues to senior IT staff as appropriate and follow up as directed Participate in IT department training and learning opportunities to build foundational technical skills Follow company policies, procedures, and IT security standards at all times Physical demands include long hours sitting, prolonged computer use, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing Other duties, activities, and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required Current CNM student - Program related to Information Technology, Computer Systems, or a related field preferred Strong communicator who is organized, dependable, and eager to learn
