Job Description

Our client is seeking an interim IT SOX Analyst to strengthen the company's compliance environment and support reliable IT controls over financial reporting. This interim engagement is ideal for someone who combines strong technical understanding with a careful, process-driven approach to Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. The role works closely with IT, Finance, Operations, and audit partners to evaluate control effectiveness, document processes, and help address control gaps. You will play an important part in maintaining a well-governed control framework across key systems and technology processes. This is a 100% remote opportunity and expected to pay between $50-$60 DOE and location.
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the ongoing administration of the IT SOX compliance program, with primary attention on IT general controls and related financial reporting risks
  • Meet with system administrators and business stakeholders to map processes, identify key control points, and maintain accurate risk and control documentation
  • Prepare and revise process narratives, control matrices, flow documentation, and testing materials so they reflect current system activities and control design
  • Perform testing of IT-dependent and automated controls in line with compliance expectations and auditor requirements, documenting results with clarity and precision
  • Monitor identified control issues through remediation, confirm corrective actions are completed, and maintain status reporting on open items
  • Assist with annual scoping exercises and IT risk assessments to determine which systems, applications, and processes fall within the SOX program
  • Review planned system implementations, enhancements, and significant technology changes to assess potential effects on internal control requirements
  • Coordinate with Finance, Operations, and IT teams to promote consistent execution of control activities and timely support for audit-related requests
  • Provide internal and external auditors with organized evidence, explanations, and supporting documentation related to IT controls and compliance activities
