The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Full of history, the area offers a community rich with diversity, the arts, technology, vineyards, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, and many other activities. The IT System Analyst analyzes business requirements to design and develop Information Technology solutions to support the College's mission and strategic plan in a multi-platform environment. The position is responsible for enterprise technology system administration, curriculum data management, and academic systems development/implementation including testing for accurate outcomes, documenting the process, conducting user review, and user training. The position performs necessary maintenance and upgrades to existing programs and systems in response to changing needs. The position provides complex functional user support and problem resolution for enterprise technology systems including, but not limited to, the Student Information System (SIS), Human Capital Management (HCM), and Administrative Information System (AIS).
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain college curriculum and academic support systems in coordination with the Registrar, Instruction staff, and other College business units to ensure accuracy and consistency of academic data. Provide system administration for enterprise and college applications to meet College operational requirements; interfacing with VCCS and vendor contacts to address complex configuration issues. Provide user support and problem resolution to complex issues within the enterprise applications while practicing excellent customer service skills; creates and maintains documentation for supported systems. VCCS liaison for enterprise application development representing the College interests in the development, testing, and implementation of new solutions. Perform other duties as assigned.
Please Note :
While telework options exist for this position, regular on-site attendance is expected for designated work assignments and meetings to support Technical Services operations and ensure consistent service delivery across the College. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft or a similar enterprise resource planning platform (ERP). Demonstrated experience with the design and development of Information Technology Systems in a multi-platform environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server development or similar relational database environments. Demonstrated ability to analyze business requirements and design appropriate technical solutions. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with users to provide documentation, training materials and to troubleshoot problems. Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently, to be flexible, to work cooperatively with others to resolve problems and complete complex projects to meet established deadlines. Additional Considerations Demonstrated experience with management of academic program requirements Demonstrated experience with the design of complex data queries such as SQRs Familiarity with VCCS policies and the best cybersecurity practices Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel Travel between campuses can be required.
