University Events & Engagement University Assistant
Under the supervision of the Director of University Events & Engagement, this position has the responsibility for assisting in planning and implementation of University Events at Eastern Connecticut State University. This position would directly assist the University Event Director & Coordinators with their day-to-day responsibilities as they relate to the items listed below.
Assist in the approval of space reservations for staff & faculty events and meetings.
o EMS event scheduling and calendar support duties
o Troubleshooting space requests with requestors as needed
Support planning, setup, and breakdown of university and alumni events.
o Review event diagrams and check set ups for accuracy
o Communicate any necessary adjustments to the appropriate department (Facilities, Catering, Media, etc.)
Facilitate the creation and posting of event related signage for event parking, location information, and directions.
Track and file of event related paperwork, including invoices, certificates of insurance and usage agreements and event data collection.
Assist with online posting and distribution of marketing materials for events.
Support Event Staff (student, volunteers, professional staff, etc.
) during evenings and weekends as needed.
This support could include:
o Supporting events taking place on campus for internal, external, and non-Eastern affiliated clients
o Serving as the site coordinator and staff contact for event needs on site before, during and after events
Assist with use of ticketing system for events.
o Preparing regular ticket sales reports for review by Event Coordinators
o Preparing post-performance financial/sales reports for review by Event Coordinators
Organizing inventory of event related decorations, signage and equipment.
Assist with the preparation of event supplies, including, but not limited to mailings, event supplies, gift bags, nametags and printed programs.
Other duties as assigned related to events or University Event & Engagement needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of event planning experience
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, Canva
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong oral and written communication skills, customer service skills and attention to detail.

University Assistant for the Academic Succes Center - Tutor Coordinator
The University Assistant for the Academic Success Center (ASC) is responsible for
supporting student success initiatives in the Center. The University Assistant role is an in- person, 19-hours per week position.
Under the supervision of the Director of the Academic Success Center, the Tutor Coordinator will deliver and coordinate tutoring support services for undergraduate students. The Tutor Coordinator is responsible for supporting the following:
Responsibilities:
Hire, train, and supervise peer tutors.
Provide individual and group tutoring in study skills, time management, and learning strategies.
Coordinate tutoring services, study groups, and other academic support programming.
Build partnerships with faculty, academic departments, and campus offices to identify and address tutoring needs.
Present workshops and connect students with appropriate campus resources to support success.
Maintain accurate records, track student interactions, and collect and analyze tutoring data.
Promote tutoring services through outreach, events, and collaborative student success initiatives.
Skills/Experience:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
Experience in a college-level tutoring program or related student success/support program.
Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Demonstrated ethical judgment, professionalism, and ability to serve as a positive role model.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Health & Safety, this individual is responsible for basic safety functions for the EHS Department. This position is part time at 19 hours per week.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists with directing, planning organizing and providing technical services for the fire alarm systems and panels.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with life safety codes, reviewing building plans and testing fire prevention equipment.
Responsible for system maintenance of the fire alarm systems, including but not limited to: Smoke detectors, heat detectors, fire alarm network and audio-visual alarms.
Inspects campus construction projects to meet fire code and life safety standards.
Acts as primary liaison with State Fire Marshall and life safety system service providers
Inspections of Fire Extinguishers, Above Ground tanks, AED's, Elevator Phone Testing, etc.
Responsible for record-keeping management of all inspections, annual reports (code, fire safety, etc.) and other code/regulation compliance documentation. Compiles information and statistics for the annual fire safety report.
Assists with interpretation of rules and regulations to university administration and staff and educating the campus community on fire safety.
May serve as a representative of the Director of EH&S on administration matters in their absence.
Recycling of used toners/inks and batteries, maintain and track various EH&S databases.
Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by the EH&S Director.
Qualifications:
Incumbents in this class will be required to possess or obtain Office of the State Fire Marshal Fire Inspector Certification.
Minimum of three years of relative experience with fire alarm systems
Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to fire and life safety programs
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Must be innovated, service and self-motivated, team-oriented, adaptable and capable of managing competing priorities.
Ability to communicate effectively with both the technical and non-technical personnel.

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of University Communications & Marketing, the Web Design Assistant will work closely with the Website Manager and University Communications & Marketing team to advance the University's web-related goals. The Web Design Assistant will design, edit, maintain, and ensure the accessibility of web pages for the University website. The Web Design Assistant will also work directly with faculty and staff to provide technical assistance in maintaining various web pages, including: academic department pages; administrative office pages; faculty & staff directories; and Student Activity club and intramural pages. This position is part time at 15-19 hours per week and is compensated at $25-$32 per hour.
Please note:
This position requires working on-site at Eastern Connecticut State University's campus in Willimantic, Connecticut. Remote work is not available for this role.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in developing and maintaining University web pages through the University's Cascade content management system.
Designs, edits, and maintains University web pages in alignment with the University's graphic/brand standards and to ensure consistency across Eastern's website.
Provides technical assistance and content advice to academic and administrative departments for website development/management.
Works closely with faculty and staff to ensure the accessibility of Eastern web pages in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and national accessibility standards.
Keeps up-to-date with current web technology and trends, such as dynamic web pages, mobile applications, and social media. Implements approved upgrades to ensure the Eastern website is competitive with technical and design standards of other college and university websites.
Assists in the integration of department-level and club-level social media content onto University web pages through a third-party feed. Retains and updates records of University-based social media accounts for social media directory.
Using SEO data, Google Analytics and other metrics, produces timely analytical reports on website activity and effectiveness.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in computer science, web design, visual art/graphic design, communication, or related field required.
Two years of related web development/design work experience
Familiarity with industry-standard web design software and coding languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Ability to design on all devices (i.e. desktop, tablet, mobile).
Familiarity with web-based forms, RSS feeds, and social
Familiarity with ADA
Familiarity with SEO and Google Analytics to produce reports and actionable web insights.
Ability to work in fast-paced academic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent organizational, visual, and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, web design, visual art/graphic design, communication, or related field.
Demonstrated software/ technical skills in Adobe Suite to assist in editing and posting photos to University web pages (Photoshop, Illustrator).
Familiarity with Cascade content management system.
Google Analytics certification.
Demonstrated experience in accessibility remediation software (i.e. DubBot).
Familiarity with web design software and coding languages (ASP, PHP, SQL, Java Velocity code).
