CENTER FOR RURAL ENGAGEMENT

(BL-CFRE-IUBLA) Department Information The Indiana University (IU) Center for Rural Engagement improves the lives of Hoosiers through collaborative initiatives that discover and deploy scalable and flexible solutions to common challenges facing rural communities. Working in full-spectrum community innovation through research, community-engaged teaching, and student service, the center builds vision, harnesses assets, and cultivates sustainable leadership structures within the communities with which it engages to ensure long-term success. Job Summary Design and produce brand-aligned print and digital communications, including publications, promotional materials, social media assets, reports, and presentations. Build, update, and maintain webpages using university content management systems, applying principles of responsive design, accessibility, visual hierarchy, and intuitive user experience. Provide photography, photo editing, and audio/video production for campaigns and events while maintaining a library of reusable design templates and digital assets. Manage production of multiple design and web projects simultaneously, preparing print and digital assets and coordinating with internal and external production partners as needed. Partner with communications staff, faculty, and community stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into engaging visual concepts. May provide project guidance to student employees. May provide project-specific guidance to student employees or other communications contributors. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, communications, marketing, web design, or a related field

The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation. Work Location Bloomington, Indiana Advertised Salary $30.00 per hour All hourly hires are eligible for a $0.50 raise for each academic semester (Fall/Spring) that they continue with the Center for Rural Engagement (CRE) in their position.
