2-3 days per week onsite About the Role Join our Network Planning Data Science team as a Back-End Developer IV, where you'll drive the modernization and expansion of our geospatial and statistical fiber modeling platforms. This high-impact position is essential to our national broadband infrastructure strategy and offers the opportunity to shape next-generation network planning solutions that power connectivity across the country. Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and optimize advanced spatial routing and network planning models for automated fiber mapping engines.
- Lead the unification of legacy spatial planning scripts into a high-performance, scalable network modeling stack.
- Execute complex Feeder Distribution Hub (FDH) and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network remodeling using cutting-edge algorithms (Dijkstra, Kruskal, minimum spanning tree).
- Manage and scale high-throughput geospatial datasets, integrating spatial data formats (shapefiles, GeoJSON) and diverse sources (OpenStreetMap, enterprise address databases) into automated ETL pipelines.
- Oversee and optimize production relational and columnar databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, Redshift, BigQuery) in cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
- Streamline real-time data sharing by building and managing automated workflow pipelines with Airflow and Python.
- Implement self-healing scripts, telemetry monitoring, and robust security controls across the modeling stack.
- Design secure, scalable, and cost-effective data infrastructure across multi-cloud platforms. Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, GIS, Operations Research, Software Engineering, or related quantitative field.
- 5+ years' experience in data engineering, geospatial analytics, or data science with proven technical leadership.
- Advanced Python (3.x), SQL, and microservices/web frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, Django).
- Deep expertise in spatial analytics, spatial SQL, PostGIS, ESRI/ArcGIS, open-source mapping (Overture Maps, QGIS, PG Tile Server).
- Demonstrated experience with transactional and analytics databases.
- Workflow automation with Apache Airflow, containerization with Docker, and hands-on cloud experience (AWS
EC2/RDS, GCP
BigQuery/Cloud Storage). Preferred Skills
- Direct experience in telecom network planning or fiber infrastructure deployment (FTTH, FWA).
- Mastery of graph/network routing algorithms in production environments.
- Track record in system performance tuning, query optimization, and cloud cost-reduction initiatives. Benefits
- Competitive max bill rate up to $92.00/hr.
- Hybrid work schedule for optimal work-life balance.
