A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required. Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements are required. Must have a clean and satisfactory driving record. Must demonstrate a strong commitment to student safety and responsible driving. Must be dependable, punctual, and professional. Must be willing and available to work a variable schedule, including nights and weekends as needed. Level 2 DCF Background check required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
School Bus Driver, transporting K-12 students on field trips and to athletic events. Out of town travel as well as evening and occasional overnight trips required. Section 234.091 - General Qualifications - Each school bus driver shall be of good moral character, of good vision and hearing, able-bodied, free from communicable disease, mentally alert, and sufficiently strong physically to handle the bus with ease and to make emergency repairs, and s/he shall possess such other qualifications as are prescribed by the State Board, and s/he shall hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement. Prior to transporting students on a school bus, each driver shall meet the following requirements: Hold a Florida Commercial Drivers' License and Endorsements as appropriate and required by law. Demonstrate the ability to prepare required written reports. Be physically capable of operating the vehicle as determined by an annual physical examination. Demonstrate physical and mental capabilities required to carry out all assigned responsibilities as a school bus driver. The bus driver's license shall be either posted in a conspicuous place inside the bus or be carried on the driver's person while the bus is in operation.
EXPECTED SALARY
$25-30/hour based on experience
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED
Previous experience transporting students or driving a school bus is preferred. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with students, takes pride in providing safe and dependable transportation, and appreciates the flexibility of a part-time schedule.
