Job Description

Job Overview Join our team as a School Bus Driver and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students in our community. In this energetic and rewarding role, you will operate school buses with enthusiasm and professionalism, providing a positive experience for young passengers while adhering to all safety regulations. Duties Safely operate school buses along designated routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of students. Follow all traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and school policies to maintain a secure environment. Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, including providing wheelchair assistance when needed. Maintain discipline and manage student behavior to promote a safe and respectful atmosphere onboard. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking brakes, lights, signals, and other safety features. Respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies with appropriate driving techniques such as emergency stop procedures. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students to address concerns or provide information as required. Requirements Must be 21 or older Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement or ability to obtain one prior to employment. Proven experience in bus driving, including school bus driving or transit bus operation preferred. Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, emergency response procedures for transportation, and transportation safety regulations. Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse communities. Familiarity with student discipline strategies, behavior management techniques, and school policy knowledge is advantageous. Pay:
$21.50 per hour Expected hours: 4.0 per week
