Overview We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our After School Care team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation. This role is crucial in providing reliable and efficient transportation services while fostering a positive environment for young passengers. This afternoon bus route runs between the hours of approximately 2:15 and 3:45 p.m. Monday - Friday during the VCSC's scheduled school day. If there is an early dismissal or cancellation due to inclement weather we will not offer services. Duties Safely operate the bus, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Transport students to and from schools to Camp Navigate After School Care sites. Maintain a clean and organized bus interior. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is safe for operation. Monitor student behavior on the bus, ensuring a respectful and safe atmosphere. Communicate effectively with camp staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise. Assist campers in boarding and exiting the bus safely. Respond promptly to emergencies or unexpected situations while maintaining calmness. Flexible schedule Requirements First aid certification is highly desirable to ensure student safety. Strong communication skills and the ability to educate young passengers on safety protocols. A valid CDL driver's license, with a Passenger Endorsement Must have a clean driving record.
