Building and Grounds Supervisor

Terms of Employment:

12 Months

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of one year of relevant work experience.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Directors may find appropriate and acceptable.

Purpose:

Keeps Brevard Academy a clean environment so that all students, staff, and the community are assured of clean, safe, attractive, and healthy places in which to learn and work.

Abilities/Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective professional working relationships with others.

Ability to utilize positive human relations skills with all staff, parents, and students.

Ability to resolve problem situations with sound judgment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters relating to Brevard Academy-A Challenge Foundation Academy.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in completing work assignments. Ability to lift/move 50 pounds

Essential Job Functions:

Strives to fulfill the mission and vision of Brevard Academy- A Challenge Foundation Academy.

Maintains compliance with all policies and/or rules governing Brevard Academy-A Challenge Foundation Academy in relation to assigned area of responsibility.

Maintains internal building cleanliness. Scrub, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean restrooms; wash windows and walls; remove trash and participate in other cleaning/disinfecting actions to help keep the building interior clean and healthful. Notify and assist the School Director and/or Board of Directors and appropriate emergency personnel of any emergency and potentially dangerous or unusual situations.

Additional Job Functions:

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Directors' policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
