School Bus Driver and Aide New Star - 3.8 Elizabeth, NJ Job Details Full-time From $25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Route driving Passenger Endorsement School Bus Endorsement CDL Passenger pickup and drop-off Full Job Description Looking for a school bus driver who possesses necessary endorsements (S and P) and a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL). I also need the driver to bring an aide who they are comfortable conducting routes with. Duties Safely operate school buses along designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transit, including proper supervision and behavior management. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate records of routes, student counts, and any incidents or delays. Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students as needed. Follow established schedules strictly to ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of students. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately to the appropriate personnel. Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including possessing the necessary endorsements. Skills Must have S and P endorsements on your CDL license. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus operation. Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations related to school transportation. Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and school staff. Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations. Dependability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility are essential qualities for this role. Physical ability to perform routine inspections and assist students as needed.
