Duties Safely operate school buses, transit buses, or paratransit vehicles according to all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Ensure the safety of all passengers by adhering to passenger safety protocols, child behavior management policies, and emergency response procedures. Assist students with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including providing wheelchair assistance and managing special needs accommodations. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking brakes, lights, signals, and other critical systems to ensure optimal operation. Maintain order on the bus by managing student behavior professionally and effectively while fostering a positive environment. Respond promptly to traffic changes or unexpected road conditions with quick decision-making skills to ensure timely arrivals. Complete all required documentation such as logs, incident reports, and safety checklists accurately and efficiently. Qualifications Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for school bus or transit vehicle operation. Proven experience in bus driving, including school bus driving or transit bus operation. Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, transportation safety regulations, and emergency response procedures for transportation. Strong communication skills in English to interact effectively with students, parents, staff, and emergency responders. Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable; familiarity with student discipline and behavior management is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting students or loading equipment safely. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified. Knowledge of school policies regarding student conduct and safety procedures. Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes or emergencies while maintaining composure under pressure. Pay:

$25.93 - $31.53 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 40.0 per week
