Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations while providing excellent customer service. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and the ability to communicate effectively with passengers with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities Safely operate a bus or other designated vehicle according to established routes and schedules. Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers during transit. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, especially those with special needs or disabilities. Must be able to bend/squat down to secure wheelchair passengers. Maintain a clean and orderly bus interior, ensuring that all safety equipment is functional. Educate passengers on safety procedures and provide information about routes and schedules. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding any issues or delays. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring compliance with company policies. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Skills Proficient in English; multilingual skills are a plus for effective communication with diverse passenger groups. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively with passengers of varying ages and backgrounds. Experience in senior care is beneficial for understanding the needs of elderly passengers. Previous experience in bus driving or paratransit services is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed. Ability to educate passengers on safety protocols and route information clearly and effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to relay important information efficiently. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
