In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers, including students (4-6 years old) along designated routes. Your dedication to safety, excellent customer service, and adherence to traffic laws will ensure a smooth and secure journey for all riders. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to make a positive impact in your community while working in a dynamic environment. Duties Safely operate various types of buses following all traffic laws and transportation safety regulations. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking. Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, signals, and fluid levels. Follow emergency response procedures for transportation incidents, including CPR and first aid when necessary. Maintain clear communication with director, teachers, and passengers using radio or other communication devices; respond quickly to traffic changes or route adjustments. Enforce passenger behavior policies to promote a safe environment. Complete all required documentation accurately, including trip logs, incident reports, and vehicle inspection records. Experience Proven experience driving buses or commercial vehicles in accordance with state and local laws. Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, emergency stop procedures, and transportation safety regulations. Experience working with diverse passenger groups such as children or seniors; familiarity with behavior management techniques. Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., CDL or school bus endorsement). Certification in first aid and CPR is highly preferred; ability to respond effectively during emergencies. Training can be arranged prior to first bus trip. Strong communication skills in English; ability to clearly convey information to passengers and team members. Prior experience in school policy knowledge or student discipline management is a plus.
